Jake Arthur Robinson

Virginia Beach

Hey, my name is Jake Robinson. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I attended Baylake Pines for elementary education and Norfolk Academy for middle and high school. While attending Norfolk Academy, I founded the Habitat for Humanity Organization and partnered with the South Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity's Youth Build. Unfortunately, the Youth Build never came to fruition; however, the N.A. Habitat for Humanity raised over $4000 during my two years as president and another $3000 the following year.

I also was the Vice Chair of the Cultural and Ethic Awareness Club, now known as Everyone Loves Everyone, which stressed the need to discuss diversity and foster a respectful community on school grounds. Through the club, I was fortunate enough to attend the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in San Diego. The conference was an amazing, introspective opportunity. Additionally, I took part in the Model United Nations club throughout my high school years. The conferences afforded me the opportunity to develop debate skills and negotiation.

For my six years at Norfolk Academy, I rowed crew. I loved the sport very much and always looked forward to rowing on the water. From 7th to 10th grade, I rowed as the stoke position in my boat, and during Junior and Senior year, I sat in the starboard seven and five seat in an eight man and three seat in a four man. My co-captain and I were lucky enough to lead the crew team for two years in a row and our boats made it to the state championships two times and placed third in the four man.
